By accessing or using CoStint ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. CoStint is operated by CoStint Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").
CoStint is a housing marketplace that connects travel healthcare professionals with property providers offering furnished rooms and entire units, and verifies people, properties, professional credentials, and assignment timing before a stay is confirmed. CoStint is not a party to any lease or occupancy agreement, is not a property manager, and does not provide legal advice. Leases and occupancy agreements are between traveler and landlord; landlords provide their own lease, and CoStint provides a clearly labeled transaction summary only.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, and you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as needed. One account per person.
CoStint facilitates verification through third-party providers and documented review: identity verification through a provider-hosted process, healthcare-credential review against primary-source registries such as Nursys and applicable licensing boards, assignment confirmation through agency attestation or reviewed evidence, and property-authority review. Verification badges state what was checked, by what source category, and when. CoStint is not the primary source for professional licensure. Verification reduces risk but does not guarantee any person, property, or outcome, and you remain responsible for your own decisions.
Background checks are performed by Checkr, a consumer reporting agency, only with your consent at the point a transaction requires one — they are not required to browse, save, message, or apply. Required disclosures and authorizations are provided through Checkr. CoStint receives and shares aggregate status only; counterparties never see the underlying report. Background screening complies with applicable law, including California limits on the use of criminal history, and standardized criteria are applied uniformly.
Browsing, saving, messaging, and applying are free for travelers. Landlords list free during the pilot and pay a placement fee after a confirmed traveler placement, as shown on our pricing page. The placement fee becomes payable only after the landlord accepts an application, verification gates pass, and both parties confirm the stay. Rent and security deposits, where paid through the Platform, are processed by Stripe; deposits are held for the stay and released per the parties' agreement, with any claim reviewed by a person before funds move. Fees are subject to the published cancellation policy, and pricing may change with 30 days' notice.
CoStint does not permit discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, or any other protected class. You agree not to: misrepresent your identity, credentials, or property authority; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; post listings you are not authorized to offer; use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; attempt to circumvent security measures or platform fees; or scrape data from the Platform.
Reviews may be left only for completed, verified stays and must reflect the reviewer's genuine experience. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
CoStint's earlier roommate-matching service is retired. Agreements formed through that service remain between their parties, and we continue to service existing obligations related to them. No new roommate matches are created.
CoStint provides a marketplace and verification facilitation only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user information, the condition or quality of housing, or the behavior of other users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid to CoStint in the 12 months preceding any claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or for any reason with notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support; deletion requests are handled per our Privacy Policy.
